Rare Lingones Celtic Silver Quinarius 80–50 BC | Δ & Half-Rouelle KALETEDOY | Ancient Gaul Coin.

Set in 22k gold and silver. Comes on 17 inch long sterling silver chain.

“Step back nearly 2,000 years to the tribal lands of the Lingones with this authentic silver quinarius, struck in the late 1st century BC.

This compact yet elegant coin bears the proud name KALETEDOY, linking it directly to a Gallic leader or tribe. On one face, a Greek delta symbol accompanies a distinctive half-rouelle—a motif deeply rooted in Celtic art and symbolism. On the other, the design reflects both local engraving traditions and the influence of Roman coinage, as the tribes of Gaul navigated a rapidly changing political and cultural landscape on the eve of the Roman conquest.

Minted in fine silver, this quinarius would have circulated among warriors, traders, and chieftains, facilitating exchange while serving as a marker of identity and prestige. Its artistry, though small in scale, reveals the fusion of utility and symbolism characteristic of late Iron Age Celtic coinage. Centuries of burial have gifted the piece with a soft, ancient patina, enhancing its timeless appeal.”
